PTT (Parents & Teachers Together) Meeting Minutes

January 7, 2013 @ 6:30pm

 

Attendees:  Bob Daugherty, Erin Cordle, Rachel Nye, Karyn Costello, Donna Young, Dawn Young, April Nulman, Donna Luden, Angeline Baker & Debbie Jensen

1.     President, Erin Cordle -  After introductions and a reminder of meeting guidelines the meeting was called to order

2.     Secretary, Donna Luden - Presented meeting minutes from our last meeting on December 3^rd.  They were voted on and approved.

3.     Treasurer, Dawn Young – Our combined Checking & Savings Balance is $11,261.15 we still need to pay for the projector and why we have such a high balance at this time.

a.     Penny drive total: $961.00

b.     Bingo Night total: $1033.00

c.      50/50 total:    $828.00.

These fundraising efforts made it possible for the PTT to purchase (27) $50.00 gift cards and (2) $200.00 gift cards to families in need during this past holiday season.  Thank you everyone for your efforts and generous contributions that immediately made a difference within our Periwinkle community.

4.     Committee Chairs Updates:

a.     Our next Movie Night will be Friday, January 18^th @ 6:30pm with doors opening at 6:00pm.  We will be featuring Brave and admission will be $1.00 or 10 Box Tops per person.  Happy to report that the new projector is installed J Rachel suggested that we do another canned food drive for our final movie night of the year.

b.     Science Night will be Thursday, February 21^st from 6-7:30 pm. This is a great family event with minimal volunteer needs.  OSU Chemistry Club, Robotics Club, Forestry Association will be participating in this event. Albany Fire Department will be on-hand to assist with the Egg Drop

c.      Our first BBQ planning meeting will be held on January 22^nd and they will be held here in the community room this year, no daycare will be provided.

d.     Angeline announced the launch of our 1^st “Coffee hour”  This opportunity is being provided for parents that have little ones at home with them during the day, but would still like to help at our school. They will happen the first Friday of the month in the community room.  A translator will be on hand. This sounds like a great opportunity for parents to meet other parents as well J

December 3, 2012 @ 6:30pm

 

Attendees:  Bob Daugherty, Erin Cordle, Rachel Nye, Karyn Costello, Donna Young, Dawn Young, Jenni Heinen, April Nulman, Donna Luden, Angeline Baker & Debbie Jensen

1.     President, Erin Cordle -  After introductions and a reminder of meeting guidelines the meeting was called to order

2.     Secretary, Donna Luden - Presented meeting minutes from our last meeting on November 3^rd.  They were voted on and approved.

3.     Treasurer, Dawn Young – No changes in PTT account.  Our combined Checking & Savings Balance is $11,927.49 we still need to pay for the projector and why we have such a high balance at this time. 

T-Shirt Sales had a profit of $132.70 and Penny Drive has raised about $700 to date with 4 days remaining.

4.     Committee Chairs Updates:

a.     Penny Drive: Nov 27 – Dec 7^th.   Periwinkles favorite fundraiser to help families in need to ensure a wonderful holiday for all!  There will be a prize awarded to the student who brings in the most pennies school wide and a lunch party for the top collecting class.  The original goal amount was $700 and we have already met that.  J

b.     Bingo Night is December 7th: This great event that wraps up our efforts for helping our periwinkle families in need.   Lots of great raffle & door prizes

1.     Mr. Daugherty pointed out Art Night had not yet been added to the Master Calendar of Events.  It is scheduled for April 4^th, 2012.

2.     April Nulman, Volunteer Coordinator- Made an adjustment in the scheduling of volunteers release time from events to eliminate extra late parent pick up of student volunteers

3.     Our next meeting will be Monday, January 7^th, 2012 @ 6:30 pm
